Well, hey there! How nice of you to stop by. The blog, as I'm sure you've noticed is oddly titled Tater Tales. Feel free to call me Tater Mama. Or Marian. Or whatever strikes your fancy.
I've turned 29 twelve times now (OUCH!), am married (to Tater Daddy, of course), with two sons. Tater Tot is about 4, and Small Fry was born in May 2009. We don't sleep nearly as much as we used to, and we don't miss it nearly as much as we thought we would. It's strange what you don't mind giving up for your children.
I went back to work in 2009 teaching 5th grade. It nearly killed me, so I'll teach 2nd grade this year, which is exactly what I wanted. I'll take the younger kiddos, thank you and amen.
We have three big, ridiculously spoiled Labrador Retrievers -- Zeus (15), Duke (4), and Hatch (4) -- who pretty much think they are people and spend most of their time lounging on the furniture, waiting for their next meal, and SHEDDING eight tons of hair a week. I got tired of all the vacuuming and decided to blog instead.
Oh, I kid. I would never let the dog hair pile up just to start a blog. I'm also going to devote some time to learning how to fry chicken. It's about darn time, too. I mean, I'm from the South and all, but somehow I've never gotten that one without starting a small grease fire. There are some things I just feel like I ought to be able to do, you know, as a Southerner, without recreating the burning of Atlanta.
Obviously, I have no idea how this whole blog thing is going to turn out. But feel free to stop by and visit any old time, and chances are I'll be around, avoiding the vacuum cleaner and trying not to burn down the house.
